Save an article for publishing
Save an article for publishing when it is ready to go live in the next site update.
Before you begin
- You need the Editor role or higher on the knowledge base.
- The article needs a title and some content. The option is unavailable if either is empty.
- The article should be in the navigation, or it will not be listed on the site. See Write an article.
Steps
- In Authoring, open the article and make your changes.
- Select Save.
- Select Publish. The menu describes it as Ready for the next site release.
DocSpade confirms with Article published.
Result
- The article’s new content replaces its previous version, and your private draft of it is removed.
- The article is ready to go into the next site update.
- Your readers do not see the change yet. To make it live, publish the site.
If someone else changed the article
If a teammate saved a newer version while you were editing, DocSpade does not overwrite it. Your editor returns to the latest version. Copy any text you want to keep, then make your changes again.
