Create a knowledge base

Use these steps to create a knowledge base inside a space. A knowledge base holds the articles that you write and publish as one documentation site.

Before you begin

• You must be an owner or admin of the organization.
• The organization must have at least one space. See Create a space.

Steps

1. Select Configuration in the top navigation.
2. In the list on the left, select the space that will contain the knowledge base.
3. Select Create knowledge base.
4. Enter a Name. DocSpade makes the Slug from the name. It is part of the site’s web address, and you cannot edit it here.
5. Check the Space. Choose a different one if needed.
6. Under Initial style policy, choose how the knowledge base is reviewed:
   • Inherit space policy uses the space’s style guides, and follows any later change to them.
   • Configure an override lets you choose style guides for this knowledge base only.
7. Select Create knowledge base.

Result

The knowledge base appears under its space in the list on the left. You can now configure it and write an article.
